The Visa information seeker - This speaks for it’s self. They come to a forum looking for advice on their particular visa process. They typically mind their own business and fade off after accomplishing their mission.

The Information Givers - The information providers are the folks who answer questions of all sorts. They have good intentions and want to share their experiences, opinions, and ideas in hopes of helping others.

The Practical - This person, man or woman, will tell it like it is.They don’t sugar coat their comments nor do they intend on hurting anyone. They usually speak from personal experience or from what they’ve observed in the past.

You might not like what they say or how they say but it’s in your best interest to listen and heed their advice.

Many times they will post a one sentence comment or question designed to make you think. It will seem a bit antagonistic but it’s serving a purpose…that much you can be sure of.

The Dreamer - He wants to live in the Philippines with his girlfriend or wife. He comes to the forums looking for advice on how to do so.

He is either savvy and has his act together and listens, or he’s one ticket away from serious problem. There never seems to be a middle of the road here.

Many times they’re living in a dream world refusing to believe anything other than what they want to believe and this will come back to haunt him.

The first mistake the dreamer will make is to believe he can bring his western mentality to the Philippines.

The second mistake he will make is to believe he’s smarter than those around him and nothing he’s been warned of will happen to him.

These folks typically fade off into other forums that support their ideas and lifestyle in hopes of finding sympathy.

The Baiter - The Baiter will do and say anything to draw attention to themselves.

They’re usually classified as trolls but I’ve seen some master baiters over the past few years typically they’re jerk offs and don’t deserve the attention they get.

Other forum members learn pretty fast what they are all about and eventually they leave to ply their trade elsewhere or they get banned from the forum.

The Crabs - The folks, both men and women, have the audacity to complain about crab mentality when, in actuality, they should be looking in the mirror.

They don’t want anyone to be happy, find love, live their dreams and never if ever give any solid advice.

They’re better knows as dream stealers and, once again, their comments aren’t worth the bandwidth that’s hosting them. It’s best to ignore them and leave them amongst themselves.

The Deniers - A denier will denial everything no matter what!

You can recognize them when they come into a forum asking if they’re being scammed, they’ll give all the classic red flags in their situation then get angry when others confirm his fears.

These guys could be seen as Dreamers or a Master Baiters but they usually fade out fast and in a blaze of glory. Once again they are a problem looking for a place to happen.

The Perverts - These men will come into a forum asking tons of questions or posting a “situation” he’s aware of in hopes of finding approval for their miscreant behavior.

Given enough time they’ll expose themselves, in one way or the other, as the pervert they are. They’ll typically start to justify all of what originally bothered them and try to back up their beliefs with their interpretation of laws pertaining to age of consent and other gibberish that may be bouncing around in their sick little minds.

The Haters - These folks just hate anything and anything you or anyone else will say, want or do. It’s just that simple.

They pass themselves off as being practical and there may be a nugget of good information amongst their crap but it’s hardly worth the effort of looking for it. The Hater is a mix of crab and denier. They are definitely master baiters in the truest sense.

I’m sure I could write all day long on this subject and still leave someone out. If you think of someone that I should add feel free to leave it in the comment section.

    Don.

Great topic! Having been around in the various forums,
one soon starts to recognize the various types of posters.
Your list is right on the money.

Here are a few types I have noted:

One-liners: Only replies with a few words.
    Usually “I agree”.

Know it alls: These posters weigh in on every subject,
and somehow are experts in every department. Usually
    their information is wrong.

Pseudo-owner: These guys are forum owner wannabees.
They come into a forum and act like they own it. They can’t
start a forum of their own, so just take over an existing one.

Pot-stirrers: Like a troll, but when given an opportunity will
post something they know will set off the majority of members.

Lurkers: People that never or rarely post.

Multi-personality: These people have numerous nicknames, and
will go so far as to answer their own post as their alter-ego. One
nickname may come across as good, their other nick come
    across as bad and evil.

Reply-to-all: These guys will check forum several times a day, and
will reply to every post. They rarely add much content.

Forum-police: These guys are worse than moderators. They think
its their job to police the forum, and keep it within their standards.

Nit-pickers: One of the worse poster. Constantly finding minor faults
with posts. Misspellings and grammar are their number one crusade.
They don’t care about contents, they care about delivery.

Post-counters: These guys are only looking to get their post count up.
They want to be #1 in the amount of posts on the forum.

The Quoters: These guys will quote entire previous posts, and then add
a few lines of their own. Some posts become huge, if several “Quoters”
    start engaging in a thread.

Well, I hope others add to the list.
