From Bombing of Glorietta to Bombshell news of Estrada’s Pardon

It’s been an interesting week to say the least we started with the bombing that might not be a bombing after all at Glorietta Mall and finished with,what certainly was destined to happen,the pardon of President Estrada.
I won’t go into my beliefs about how or why President Estrada was pardoned…my opinion isn’t important.
What is important is that he is a free man and that’s that! It will not be reversed and life will move on for the Filipino People.
I do want to give you some responses from my favorite blogs for you to ponder.
Maricar @ Filipina Soul seemed a bit angry about the whole deal stating:
Estrada’s pardon is a shame!!!
In all my time writing here at Filipina Soul, nothing, and I mean NOTHING!, has made my blood boil as this news of Estrada’s pardon.
She ask in another post “how can he accept a pardon for something he claims he never did?”
You have got to be kidding me!!!
So just wait a minute here. What was all that hoopla that the Sandiganbayan went through for six long years?! Estrada was found guilty of plunder, charged with life sentence, required to return about PhP400M back to the government, and sequestering all his properties. Plus the Court ordered the arrest of all his co-defendants in the case.
No Maricar…they’re not kidding?

When one is given a second chance in life, one should be willing to make amends, a healing change. The absolute pardon can inspire Erap to prove to us that he deserves this chance. But first of all, why does he get to keep most of the money he acquired in his presidency? If ever he keeps this money, I hope he can use this to benefit the poor or improve our economy in future projects.
