Did the arrest of “Mark Verzo aka Boy Bastos” awaken the thousands of Pinoy Internet marketers in the Philippines? It could very well be…just today a bit of SPICe has been added to the mix the.
The SPICe i’m talking of is Stop Philippine Internet Censorship.
“The SPICe Campaign or Stop Philippine Internet Censorship is a blog created to promote awareness and provide information about Internet censorship. This blog is also created to protect and uphold the inherent right of self expression and free speech among Internet users in the Philippines as well as access to various information, as well as defend the victims of Internet censorship.”
This blog will be one to watch for sure. They are not created for hate campaigns against supporters of censorship but to spread factual information that will combat censorship.
I’m an advocate of freedom of speech…but freedom with responsibility. Freedom with common sense and not outright permissiveness or lawlessness. It’s a fine line to toe and one that will be at the core of democratic countries for eternity.
