It hurts me to read about a Filipina is so very in love with an American man whom she has met in the Internet. But only to be hurt and disappointed sooner than later.
It’s possible, highly possible, she met him in one of the many website designed for the sole purpose of introducing Filipina women to American men.
These sites are helpful in the sense that if a someone is curious about developing a Fil-Am relationship then they don’t have far to go to start the process of finding someone of the opposite culture
It’s simple and convenient kind of like catalog shopping or as some folks put it Mail order shopping. The Mail order stigma no longer lands on the Filipina as a Mail order Bride but also onto the American male as Mail order husband. Why? You might ask and the answer is simple.
If a Filipina can click through pages and pages,on the internet, of American men who are seemingly ready, willing and able to marry a Filipina and give her the family life she is dreaming of. He’s just as subject to being “shopped” as she is.
Which brings me to the reason I’m writing tonight.
I know it’s going to step on some toes and I can almost guarantee that someone reading this, be it Filipina or “Kano”, will say:
“Oh, I have heard of this happening to others but I’m smarter than that and I know it won’t happen to me.”
If you have said this EVER then you’re just the person I am talking about.
It can, and more likely will, happen to you because you’ve blinded yourself to the possibility. But from this day on do not say you haven’t been warned because you have!

I can definitely say that I have met other Kanos that had these issues. I did not meet my wife online I came here first. I thought it was better, and now I am glad I did. We have been married for almost a year now and our first child will be borne June 5th.
